Did you build the drift boat.  I have been looking into building one when the GA is done.    There are lots of drifters here.   It would be exciting to build and sell a few if there’s any money in it

Nice!  I build a Don Hill 16' Standard back in the '90s ... sorry I don't have better pix.  I used Sapele ply...

Those sure are pretty!  My thoughts were to appeal to first time buyers.  Stitch and glue.  Leave outside style.  Paint, little to no brightwork.  That a project I can build on speculation. That i could afford to eat so to say.

You can build a driftboat pretty cheaply and trailers can be had for only about $700.  It's a great way to get a boat ... not a fast boat, but CAN take a small outboard up to about 6hp.  Oh, if someone wants an outboard like that, I've got a low-hours but older one with a long shaft for driftboats that I'd like to sell... :D

Have you had any sales from your camp skiff design?   I suspect this is more of a go big or go home page.  It sure looked like a fun project.  I’m already wondering what I’m going to do if I ever finish my GA

I gave away several sets of plans for the Camp Boat 13, but it never caught on.  I need to lighten it up and make an adjustment to the stern seating to make it a better design ...

My first boat build was a 16 foot Don Hill Mckenzie River drift boat. I think plans are still available

I have bought the Don Hill 14 ft plans and was wondering what you would do different in a drift you would design

i'm hoping to build this summer/fall

thanks Darrell

I think (O'Brien) there's only one stitch-n-tape set of drift boat plans out there?  People need more choices!  But it's been several years since I've searched for driftboat designs, so maybe there are more out there now.  Mostly, I just like them and building the prototype would be fun ... then sell plans to it. :)
