I bought one of these hitches.  It has a scale on the hitch. They have factory seconds. A few little scratches. Sure makes weight distribution easier. Weigh-safe.com

Boat Building Materials / Epoxy and Western Red Cedar
« on: April 13, 2022, 10:44:32 AM »
A question on Western Red Cedar will it take epoxy and is it structurally strong enough? I would use it for the pilot house roof and berth roof. The wood is clear 2x10x16, 5/4x10x20. I’m guessing it should. Thanks so much

Boat Building Materials / Old fiberglass mat
« on: January 05, 2022, 03:53:12 PM »
I have read that old fiberglass mat and tape is not as strong as new. Someone is giving me some old clean on a roll fiberglass mat and tape. I would guess it only degrades to a point. It sure would be nice to use it. I’m acquiring things to get started building. Thanks

Hi, I was wondering on a kicker motor how long of a shaft do you need? One option would be mounted on the transom on a bracket. The other option would be a transom like Djeffrey has on his boat. Thanks

I'm contemplating using Radiata pine AC Exterior plywood from Chesapeake Plywood for the hull. Brian do you have any thoughts. If you could check it out it would be great. It would save thousands. I have a friend that used it for a build and he sure liked it. I'll try to get a piece and do the boil test. 3/8th is $27.89, 1/2 $32.00, 3/4 $37.40 total $824.35. Okoume 3/8th $88.64, 1/2 $109.44, 3/4 $154.24 total $2961.44 that no extra. Hydrotec is $78.00 for 3/8 th a little cheaper than Okoume but not much. Thanks for your time.
