Been reading everyone's posts and increadible projects. Can anyone tell me if they put in a holding tank as well as a water tank. How big? Where did you put it? Thanks for any help. I am still laying out a 28 footer. Dennis

Heavy components, in general, have the least affect on boat trim if they are kept near the center of gravity ...somewhere right at or just aft of the aft pilot house bulkhead.  If heavy items are mounted further away, then they have greater affect, and the more you need to give some thought as to how you'll balance that out ...for example, heavy items further aft should be balanced out with other heavier items (other tanks?) further forward.  These are general notes of course.  As a final note, it's better to have the bow trim up (or stern low) by an inch or two than the other way around ...the boat will perform better, water will drain aft, and so will liquids under the deck.  Water or other liquids moving forward, weighing down the bow, and getting trapped without a way out of the boat is a lot worse.  If you're going to hedge your bets on tank placement, hedge them slightly aft  ;)
