I have read that old fiberglass mat and tape is not as strong as new. Someone is giving me some old clean on a roll fiberglass mat and tape. I would guess it only degrades to a point. It sure would be nice to use it. I’m acquiring things to get started building. Thanks

Glass does not degrade, even in UV. Dirt, grease, dust, and other contaminates can, however, result in a poor bond. The only failure I've ever seen was fiberglass applied to dusty wood.

Thanks Brian. Figures were I read it was building airplanes out of epoxy. All the fiberglass I ever used you couldn’t seem to destroy it.

It's silicon dioxide ... pretty bullet proof, inert, stuff :)
