Im considering sewing a thin clear vinyl patch on mine.  If it works Ill do it to all in the future

I didnt use any piano hinge. Some I used have 2 pivots and were the most problematic.  All the hinges in the decks were nothing special, but all of them were set flush to the deck.

Looks great!

Keep in mind the hatches can bind depending on which hinges you use.

I did t use any mesh.  They sure do empty quick.

6
I wish I had discovered it sooner. Hope it works well for you

Chuck, as a side note. They are not considered pfd unless they are worn.  Having them on deck doesn?t count

Groovy, it?s not that big of a deal, but it is kinda annoying.  I?ll hit you up later in the season.  Good luck with the halibut.  We have laid the smack down on lings this winter and early spring so far

General Discussion about the Great Alaskan / Auto inflate life jacket

I have these on my boat,  but my question/issue is applicable to PFDs. I had a coast guard inspection which I passed without issue.  I was reminded that when the writing inside the pfd is worn off they are no longer recognized as serviceable.  The expense of replacing these is cost prohibited after the recommended re-arm costs and so on.

My question. Has anyone tried to put a clear film/cover/sticker over the coast approval to keep it from wearing off?

Unrelated to your thruster project,  but I have the same shunt installed that you do.  I only see battery discharge.  The battery meter only runs down with use and the little triangle always indicates discharge.  The triangle never indicates that the battery is charging.  And the battery level indicator always need to be reset to 100% if I want to monitor haw many AH used.  It is on my house battery BTW.  Do you have enough experience with it yet to comment on my issues?  Also isn?t the instructions a peach, you need a microscope to read the little folding pamphlet

I could not resist.  Imagining myself on some glorious piece of water, anchored for the night

Did you try laying down on them yet?

A 28? standard GA is quite comfy for two on extended trips.   Ive done 3 weeks twice with no complaints.

This is what I did.   The big drop in doubles as a second table if I choose to put in the pedestal.  The small drop in was just a filler piece.   I pretty much leave it out now, but it could be used as a cutting board in a pinch.  I must say, having the small drop in piece removed all the time is worth a million bucks, when entering and exiting the cuddy.  You can sit on the mattress and put your shoes on.  It's just way more user friendly not filling up that entire space.  I throw all kinds of junk, dirty clothes bags and what not under there.  After the trip just pull the table out and grab your goodies.  This is One thing I would definitely say is a must have
