I’m not technologically enclined.  How doe the tapatalk app enhance my experience on this board?   I downloaded it but don’t know what to do with it

Sorry to disappoint ... but Tapatalk, while great to use, isn't currently working with our forums.  We changed server hosting companies and various permissions issues caused the forums to be wonky and the issues are not fixed yet.  Someday, when I get time (funny, eh?), I need to back up the database, completely strip out the old installation of the forum software and re-install, then restore the database and fix whatever issues I run into ... hopefully with good luck.  I don't get a lot of time for this stuff, especially during summer, so I keep letting the forums hobble along....

You will find that Tapatalk works quite well on fishyfish and Ifish, especially when you are posting photos.
