I should have my boat ready, I have launched from Coronet bay / Deception Pass on Whidbey Island and definitely meet up.

Coronet Bay is nice, there is a launch at the county park with showers/bathrooms.  There is inside docks and outside docks.

There may be other spots.  Where do you launch?

So ... what's the tally for the wooden boat festival?  Are just the on-the-water guys backing out?  Are there on-land boats going to be there still?

I think I am the only boat on land.  With everyone else backing out, I don't see the point in going.  I was in it to start the gathering of builders not the show.

Yeah, and it'd be great for public exposure to the boat too.  Personally, a rack of beer, box of cigars, and camping on/at Sucia Island (Puget Sound) sounds like a lot more fun ... do it the same weekend, and buddy-boat to the show for fun :)

This looks like an awesome trip, I don't think I could make it this year but I would certainly try to do it next year or following...

Brian where do you currently live?

Good question!  In Star, Idaho for now (22 mi. west of Boise), but about 35-40% on our 5 acres in the Idaho panhandle.  We're incrementally moving up into a couple of storage units while the builder builds ... move completely when finished.  Here's where they're at on the 28x40 shop (14' walls, 12'h by 16'w garage door) ... trusses going on today ... I'll get back into boat design when I get up there ... design ... build/test/sell prototype ... repeat:

Not a Great Alaskan build, unless I convert it into a planing double-ender like the Calkins Bartender .... but lighter, faster and easier planing.  I want to focus on new designs ... some fast, some little, none of them tooo big.  The GA/Kodiak fill that slot.
